WESLEY CHAPEL, FL - The weekend calendar in Wesley Chapel has a few useful notes for families, shoppers and sports visitors: one Friday shopping event, a volleyball clinic, a Saturday sports event and a Monday government and library closure.

Here is what residents should know before making plans for Oct. 9 through Oct. 12.

Friday: Shopping For A Cause At The Shops At Wiregrass

The Shops at Wiregrass lists "Kendra Gives Back with Thriving Beyond Breast Cancer" for Friday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at Kendra Scott.

The event is tied to Breast Cancer Awareness Month and benefits Thriving Beyond Breast Cancer, according to the event page. The listing says guests can expect complimentary coffee and light bites while shopping, and that 20% of proceeds will benefit the organization.

The Shops at Wiregrass is located at 28211 Paseo Drive in Wesley Chapel.

Friday Evening: Volleyball Clinic At Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus

Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus lists a "VB Setting & Attacking Clinic" for Friday, Oct. 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The sports campus calendar includes a registration link for the clinic. The campus is located at 3021 Sports Coast Way in Wesley Chapel and regularly hosts indoor sports programming, tournaments and community events.

Saturday: CCA Florida STAR Awards At The Sports Campus

The Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus calendar also lists the CCA Florida STAR Awards for Saturday, Oct. 10.

The event is listed as an all-day item on the sports campus calendar. Residents planning to attend or drive near the venue should check the organizer link and campus updates before heading out, especially because large events can affect parking and traffic around the facility.

Halloween Note: Candy Crawl Is Not This Weekend

Families watching for Halloween events should note one important change: Candy Crawl at The Shops at Wiregrass has been rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. because of inclement weather, according to the official event page.

That means the family Halloween event is still on the calendar, but not for this weekend.

Monday: Pasco County Offices And Libraries Close For Staff Development Day

Pasco County's calendar lists county offices as closed Monday, Oct. 12, for Staff Development Day. Pasco County Libraries also says all PCLS locations will be closed Monday and will reopen with regular hours Tuesday, Oct. 13.

For Wesley Chapel residents, that makes Friday a good day to handle county or library-related errands before the long weekend.

As always, residents should check the official event pages before leaving, because weather, registration limits and organizer updates can change plans quickly.
