WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — The new week in Wesley Chapel begins with a county closure, continues with school and election deadlines, and points residents toward several civic dates to watch across Pasco County.

Pasco County government offices will be closed Monday, October 12, for Staff Development Day. County libraries will also be closed, including the Wesley Chapel Branch Library. Pasco County says parks and beaches will remain open from dawn to dusk, and GoPasco fixed-route and demand response service will operate on its regular schedule, although administrative offices will be closed.

For families, Pasco County Schools is still asking parents and guardians to complete the 2026 Fall Family Feedback Survey. The district says the survey is open through October 16 and is intended to help shape student and family experiences across the school system.

Election planning is also moving into the next phase. The voter registration deadline for the November 3 General Election has passed, but Pasco voters can still review sample ballots, check registration status, request vote-by-mail information and prepare for early voting. Pasco's early voting schedule runs from October 19 through October 31, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

County government watchers also have several dates ahead. Pasco County's October public meeting schedule lists the next regular Board of County Commissioners meeting for Tuesday, October 20, in New Port Richey. A Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, also in New Port Richey, with a Pasco 2050 workshop expected to follow. A BCC workshop previously listed for October 13 is marked canceled.

For Wesley Chapel residents, these county-level meetings matter because Wesley Chapel is an unincorporated community. Many decisions about roads, land use, public safety, libraries, parks, stormwater and long-term planning are handled at the county level rather than by a city government.

Residents planning errands this week should check operating hours before leaving home, especially for county offices and library services affected by the Monday closure.
