PNC Bank plans to convert the former Burger King at Village Market into a new branch, bringing another reuse project to the busy Wesley Chapel Boulevard commercial corridor.

The proposal covers the approximately 3,500-square-foot building at 28136 Wesley Chapel Boulevard. Reported project information places the renovation investment at about $900,000 and includes changes to the former restaurant’s drive-through area to accommodate a drive-up ATM.

The location sits near Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Interstate 75, within the Village Market shopping center. The center also includes Crunch Fitness, Ace Hardware, Famous Tate and several restaurants and service businesses.

PNC already operates a full-service branch at 1715 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Wesley Chapel. The bank has not publicly said whether the planned Village Market branch would replace that location or operate alongside it. No opening date has been announced.

The project is still a plan, not an open branch. For now, the proposal is another example of an older restaurant property being adapted for a different commercial use instead of being demolished and rebuilt from the ground up.
