PHSC Dual Enrollment Students Face November 6 Graduation Deadline
Pasco County high school students who expect to complete an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree through Pasco-Hernando State College this fall have an important step remaining: they must submit a graduation application by Friday, November 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The requirement applies even if the student does not plan to participate in commencement. Completing the required classes does not automatically submit the graduation application or guarantee that the degree will be awarded.
Pasco County Schools highlighted the deadline in its October family and community newsletter for dual enrollment students who may earn a college degree while still in high school. PHSC also lists November 6 as the deadline to apply and participate in the Fall 2026 commencement ceremony.
How Students Apply
Students must use Banner Student Self Service inside the myPHSC Bobcat Portal. PHSC advises students to review their degree audit and contact an academic advisor to confirm that the correct program appears and that all requirements are complete or in progress.
A student must be enrolled in the final credits required for the program before applying to graduate. Submitting the application allows PHSC to evaluate the record, but it does not override missing courses, grades, tests or other program requirements.

Requirements That Can Delay a Degree
PHSC tells students to check their degree audit for all requirements tied to the applicable degree or certificate. Depending on the program, those requirements may include:
- completion of required courses or current enrollment in the final required credits;
- a PHSC and cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0;
- the required number of PHSC program-residency credits;
- foreign-language requirements for applicable programs;
- civic-literacy coursework and, when required, the related assessment;
- other testing or program-specific requirements.
Dual enrollment students should not assume that high school graduation requirements and college graduation requirements are identical. A student may be on track for a high school diploma but still have an unresolved college requirement, or the reverse.
The fastest way to identify a problem is to review the degree audit now and contact an advisor before the deadline. Waiting until November 6 leaves little time to correct a program code, missing record or eligibility question.
Applying and Attending Commencement Are Related but Different
PHSC's Fall 2026 commencement ceremonies are scheduled for December 11 at the West Campus gymnasium, with sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Eligible students who apply and indicate that they plan to participate will receive their assigned ceremony information through their PHSC student email.
The graduation application is more than a reservation for the ceremony. It is the formal step used to request evaluation and awarding of the degree or certificate. Pasco County Schools specifically tells dual enrollment students to submit the application whether or not they intend to walk at commencement.
Students should continue monitoring their PHSC email after applying. Ceremony instructions, eligibility questions and other notices may be sent there rather than to a personal email account.
What Happens if Requirements Are Not Completed
Submitting the application does not guarantee graduation. PHSC states that students who apply but do not successfully complete their program requirements must apply again once those requirements have been met.
Students expecting to finish in a later term should use the deadline for that term. Pasco County Schools lists April 2, 2027, for Spring 2027 graduation applications and July 23, 2027, for Summer 2027. Summer graduates do not have a summer commencement ceremony; those who request ceremony participation are invited to the December event.
