New Pasco County Utilities rates take effect October 1, raising the county’s example residential water and sewer bill by $4.33 per month.
WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — October 1, 2026 — Pasco County Utilities customers will begin paying higher water, sewer and reclaimed water rates today under the county’s Fiscal Year 2027 rate schedule.
According to Pasco County, an average residential water and sewer customer using 6,000 gallons of water per month will see the monthly bill increase from $91.99 to $96.32.
That is an increase of $4.33 per month, or about $51.96 over 12 months if water use remains around the same level.
For Wesley Chapel residents served by Pasco County Utilities, the new rates take effect today, October 1.
The county’s FY2027 schedule lists a residential water base charge of $11.52 per month for standard 5/8-inch and 3/4-inch meters. Water consumption is then billed at different rates depending on how much water a household uses.
Residential sewer service has a monthly base charge of $24.53, with an additional charge based on metered water use.
Residents with reclaimed water service will also see new rates. The monthly reclaimed water base charge is now $13.26 and includes the first 8,000 gallons.
Additional reclaimed water use is charged at $1.33 per 1,000 gallons between 8,000 and 13,000 gallons, and $2.27 per additional 1,000 gallons above 13,000 gallons.
The monthly backflow prevention device fee is now $7.22.
The actual impact on each household will depend on water consumption, meter size and the services connected to the property.
Pasco County says revenue collected through utility rates and fees helps support the operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of its water, wastewater and reclaimed water systems.
The October 1 increase is part of a multi-year utility rate schedule rather than a one-time adjustment. The current Fiscal Year 2027 rates remain in effect through September 30, 2027.
For many residents, the simplest way to understand the change is through the county’s own example: a residential customer using 6,000 gallons per month will see a monthly water and sewer bill rise from $91.99 to $96.32.
Residents who want to estimate the effect on their own household can compare their recent water use with the current Pasco County Utilities rate schedule.
