Pasco School Board Meets on Election Day: How Families Can Follow and Comment

Pasco County families will have two civic calendars to follow on Tuesday, November 3. While voters head to the polls for the 2026 General Election, the Pasco County School Board will hold its next regular meeting at 9:30 a.m. in Building 3 of the district complex in Land O' Lakes.

The meeting is part of the board's regular schedule and is separate from Election Day operations. Still, the timing makes advance planning important for parents, employees and residents who want to attend the meeting, watch online or provide public comment while also making time to vote.

The district says regular School Board meetings are open to the public, streamed live and archived on the Pasco County Schools YouTube channel. The official agenda and supporting documents are available through the district's Diligent Communities portal.

Where and When the Board Will Meet

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, at 9:30 a.m. in the Board Room of Building 3 North at the Pasco County Schools district complex, 7205 Land O' Lakes Boulevard, Land O' Lakes.

Pasco County School Board meetings are generally held twice each month: at 9:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday and at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday, unless the district announces a change. The board's five elected members adopt policies and take official action on district business, while the superintendent is responsible for carrying out those policies and overseeing daily operations.

How Public Comment Works

At a regular meeting, members of the public may comment on a proposition listed as an action item before the board considers it. The district also provides an opportunity at the end of the meeting for general comments about school matters of community interest that are not on the agenda.

Each speaker is generally limited to three minutes, once per meeting, and comments must be directed to the board chair. The presiding officer may adjust the time when circumstances require it.

Families planning to speak should review the agenda first and determine whether their subject is tied to a scheduled action item or belongs in the general-comment period. That distinction can affect when the speaker is called.

The meeting is not the only way to communicate with board members. The district also publishes the email address and phone number for each elected member on its School Board page.

Review the Agenda Before Attending

Pasco County Schools says agendas for regular meetings are published seven days in advance. The district now uses the Diligent Communities portal, where residents can view upcoming and previous meetings, supporting documents and archived materials.

Because agenda items and documents may be updated, residents should use the official portal rather than relying on a screenshot or social-media summary. This article does not attempt to describe items that have not been independently confirmed in the final agenda.

Regular board meetings and workshops are streamed live and archived on the district's YouTube channel. Some legally closed matters, including certain student or employee proceedings, are not shown publicly.

Instructional Materials Team Meets the Night Before

The district has also scheduled an Instructional Materials Adoption Narrowing Team meeting for Monday, November 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Training Room C of Building 3 at 7227 Land O' Lakes Boulevard.

The current adoption process covers instructional materials for M/J Health 6 and HOPE Core during the 2026-2027 school year, with implementation planned for 2027-2028. The published narrowing-team schedule includes additional meetings on November 12 and November 16.

The deadline to apply to serve on the team was September 17, so residents should not assume they can join the committee by arriving at a meeting. The team reviews the connection between proposed materials, curriculum and state standards and develops recommendations for later consideration.

Accessibility and Planning Ahead

The district asks anyone who needs a disability-related accommodation for a board meeting to call no later than three days before the meeting. The central Pasco contact number is 813-794-2649; the Diligent portal also lists 727-774-2649 for West Pasco and 352-524-2649 for East Pasco.

Because the meeting falls on Election Day, residents who plan to attend in person should also make a separate voting plan. The School Board meeting is not a polling location, and attending it does not replace voting at the location assigned by the Supervisor of Elections.
