Wesley Chapel families will have an opportunity to compare schools and educational programs in one place when the Pasco Pathways Expo comes to Cypress Creek High School on Tuesday, November 10, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Pasco County Schools event will bring together teams from schools across the county and offer information sessions about dual enrollment, early childhood programs, Pasco Pathways and the school choice process. Advance registration is now open through the district's official event page.

One evening to compare opportunities

The participant list includes schools serving Wesley Chapel directly, such as Wesley Chapel Elementary, Wesley Chapel High, Wiregrass Ranch High, Cypress Creek Middle and High, Dr. John Long Middle and Thomas E. Weightman Middle. Schools with specialized programs will also attend, including Kirkland Ranch Academy of Innovation, Angeline Academy of Innovation, Sanders Memorial Elementary and Centennial Elementary.

Having these teams in the same location gives parents and students a chance to speak directly with representatives, compare areas of study and understand which options may match a student's interests and academic goals. Pasco eSchool, the district's virtual option, is also scheduled to participate.

In addition to school booths, the district has scheduled general information sessions covering three subjects that often generate questions for families:

  • Dual enrollment: an opportunity for eligible students to take courses that may count toward both high school and college credit.
  • VPK and early childhood: information about programs for younger children and preparation for entering the school system.
  • Pasco Pathways and school choice: magnet options, career academies and the process for requesting a school or program other than the one normally assigned to a student's address.

Why families should attend before January

The Expo takes place nearly two months before the school choice application window opens for the 2027–28 school year. According to the district calendar, applications open January 7, 2027, at 8 a.m. and close January 20 at 4:30 p.m.

Attending in November gives families time to learn about programs, ask questions and compare alternatives before completing an application. Attending the Expo does not replace the formal school choice application and does not guarantee placement.
