WESLEY CHAPEL, FL - Wesley Chapel residents who need to handle county business or visit a Pasco library should plan ahead before the long weekend.

Pasco County says Board of County Commissioners offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, for Staff Development Day. County government offices are scheduled to reopen Tuesday, Oct. 13.

The closure also affects several public-facing services. Pasco County says Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources offices, recreation complex buildings and community centers will be closed Monday, although parks and beaches will remain open to the public from dawn to dusk.

GoPasco fixed-route and demand-response transportation services are expected to run on a regular schedule, but GoPasco administrative offices will be closed.

All Pasco County Libraries will also be closed Monday. The library system says branches will reopen with regular hours Tuesday, Oct. 13.

For families in Wesley Chapel, the practical takeaway is simple: Friday is the better day to handle library pickups, returns that need staff help, county office questions or other errands that depend on an open counter. Online services may still be available, but residents should check the specific department or library service before relying on it.

Animal Services administration, the Adoption Center, the Intake/Reclaim Shelter and Field Services will be closed, according to the county. An Animal Control Officer will be available for emergencies only.

The Resource Recovery Facility, West Pasco Class III and the East Pasco Transfer Station will also be closed to the public Monday, while remaining open to Pasco County licensed commercial haulers.
