Pasco County government offices are closed today, Monday, Oct. 12, for a Staff Development Day, according to Pasco County.

For Wesley Chapel residents, the closure means several routine county errands should wait until Tuesday. Board of County Commissioners offices are closed, along with all Pasco County libraries, county recreation buildings and community centers.

Parks and beaches remain open from dawn to dusk.

GoPasco fixed-route and demand-response transportation will continue regular service today, although GoPasco administrative offices are closed.

Pasco County Animal Services is also operating on a limited basis. The county said the Animal Services Administration Office, Adoption Center, Intake/Reclaim Shelter and Field Services are closed, with an Animal Control Officer available for emergencies only.

County waste facilities are partly closed to the public today. Pasco County said the Resource Recovery Facility, West Pasco Class III and East Pasco Transfer Station are closed to the public, but remain open to Pasco County licensed commercial haulers.

BCC government offices are expected to reopen Tuesday, Oct. 13.

The simple version: if your Monday plan involved a county counter, a library visit, a recreation building or a public drop-off site, check first. It may save you a drive, a closed door and that particular kind of silence only a government parking lot can offer on a Monday morning.
