The Hooters restaurant announced for Wesley Chapel Boulevard will not move forward at its planned site next to the Harley-Davidson dealership, ending nearly two years of uncertainty around the project.

Pasco County confirmed to the Tampa Bay Beacons that the property owner’s representative does not intend to resubmit or advance the project at 25245 Wesley Chapel Boulevard. The signs previously promoting the restaurant have been removed, although the Original Hooters website still listed the Wesley Chapel location as “coming soon” when checked Wednesday.

The project was announced in October 2024 as a 4,500-square-foot restaurant with an outdoor patio. Initial plans called for an opening in 2025 and approximately 60 jobs. Construction, however, never began in earnest and the announced timeline passed without a groundbreaking.

The county’s confirmation resolves a question that remained open as the project moved through site review. It does not confirm whether Original Hooters is considering another location in Wesley Chapel, and no replacement tenant or new plan for the site has been announced.

For residents following new development along the Wesley Chapel Boulevard corridor, the practical update is straightforward: the Hooters planned beside Harley-Davidson is no longer proceeding at that address.
