Cypress Creek High School is encouraging eligible students to explore Spring Dual Enrollment through Pasco-Hernando State College, a program that allows high school students to earn college credit while completing their diploma.
The school says the opportunity can help students move ahead on their academic goals while saving on future tuition costs. Students can discuss available courses, eligibility requirements and enrollment steps with their school counselor.
College credit and fine arts options
The program is not limited to traditional academic subjects. Cypress Creek says PHSC is partnering with the school and its Conservatory of the Arts to offer fine arts courses specifically for eligible CCCA students.
Those courses are designed to help students develop artistic skills while earning college credit. The opportunity may be especially relevant to students interested in music, theatre, dance or other creative fields.

PHSC describes dual enrollment as an opportunity for high school students to earn college or technical credit while taking college-level courses at the high school or college. Credit can apply toward high school graduation and future college study.
Eligibility and enrollment steps
Cypress Creek’s dual enrollment information page says new students must complete the PERT and earn qualifying scores in reading, writing and/or math. Qualifying SAT or ACT scores may also be accepted.
Students must also have a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA and qualifying college placement test scores. After that, students apply to PHSC, meet with their school counselor to select courses and complete the required course-request process.
