The Band of Coyotes followed a top-10 finish at the Lions Pride Competition with a first-place result at the FFCC Gaither Competition.
The Cypress Creek High School marching band in Wesley Chapel earned first place at the FFCC Gaither Competition, continuing a strong run during the performance season.
According to the school, the Band of Coyotes had placed in the top 10 at the Lions Pride Competition at King High School. The following weekend, the group won the competition at Gaither High School in Tampa.
A season of growth
Cypress Creek said the result reflects the students’ work and highlighted that the band is growing in both size and artistic quality.
The production brings musicians and color guard performers together in a show that combines music, movement, field formations and visual elements. For the students, the result recognizes weeks of rehearsals and preparation.
The win also expands Cypress Creek’s presence in the regional marching-band circuit and highlights the role of the school’s arts program in student development.
How students can join
Students interested in joining the band can visit the band room and speak with Mr. Rodriguez, according to the school.
The program is especially open to students who already have experience playing an instrument and want to learn more about the opportunities available.
