WESLEY CHAPEL, FL - Families planning a Halloween outing at The Shops at Wiregrass have a new date to mark on the calendar.

The shopping center's Candy Crawl has been rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the event page posted by The Shops at Wiregrass. The page says the change was made because of inclement weather.

That means families should not plan on the event taking place this weekend unless they are checking another activity on the center's calendar. The updated Candy Crawl listing points guests to the Oct. 18 date on Paseo Drive at The Shops at Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive in Wesley Chapel.

The event is being promoted as a family-friendly Halloween gathering, with trick-or-treating, crafts, games, activities, live entertainment, Touch-a-Truck, a not-so-spooky haunted obstacle course, a Monster Bouncer, costume contests and a scavenger hunt.

The event page says free trick-or-treat bags will be available for children while supplies last, though families may bring their own bags from home.

Costumes are optional but encouraged. Costume contest registration is expected to take place near the stage at the Tampa Bay Moms Group and Fun 4 Tampa Kids table, according to the listing.

For Wesley Chapel families, the update is mostly a planning note: the event is still on the calendar, but not for the original weekend many parents may have been watching. With outdoor community events in Florida, weather changes can move quickly, so residents should check the official event page again before heading out.

The Candy Crawl is presented in partnership with and benefiting TBMG Cares, Inc., according to The Shops at Wiregrass.
