AdventHealth Wesley Chapel recently introduced a new system designed to improve treatment for severe stroke cases. The information was released by AdventHealth West Florida Division and published through PR Newswire on August 18, 2026. The hospital now has a biplane neurointerventional suite, a specialized room equipped for minimally invasive neurological procedures.

In practical terms, the system allows doctors to view blood vessels in the brain from different angles at the same time. This can help specialists identify a clot more precisely and guide a catheter to the area where blood flow is blocked.

One of the main procedures supported by this technology is mechanical thrombectomy, used in certain severe ischemic strokes. During the procedure, a doctor moves a small catheter through the vascular system, reaches the clot, and removes it without the need for open brain surgery.

For Wesley Chapel and Pasco County, one of the most important changes is that some patients who previously may have needed to be transferred to another hospital can now receive this type of treatment at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel. In stroke care, reducing the time between diagnosis and treatment can be especially important.

The new technology also reflects the continued expansion of health care services in Wesley Chapel as the community grows. In addition to stroke treatment, the suite can support other neurovascular procedures, increasing the hospital’s ability to provide more specialized care closer to home.
