The October 3 event at Wesley Chapel District Park combines a plant sale, gardening education and family activities, with opportunities to ask local experts about growing in Florida.
WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — Residents looking for a Saturday outing—and answers to their gardening questions—can find both at the 10th Annual Gardening 365 Festival & Plant Sale, returning to Wesley Chapel District Park tomorrow, October 3.
Hosted by UF/IFAS Extension Pasco County’s Master Gardener Volunteers, the festival runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 7727 Boyette Road. Admission is free, and the event is scheduled to take place rain or shine.
The program brings together plant shopping and practical education. UF/IFAS lists seminars covering fruit trees, herbs, pollinators, vegetable gardening, cacti and fire ecology. Master Gardener Volunteers, community partners and other experts will also be available to answer visitors’ questions.
For residents getting acquainted with Florida gardening, that access offers a useful starting point. Visitors can bring questions about their own yards, explore the educational resources and learn more before choosing plants to take home.
Activities for the whole family
The announced attractions include a walk-through butterfly exhibit, a children’s zone, hands-on educational activities and Touch-A-Truck. Plant and retail vendors, food and drinks, garden décor, ladybug sales and a silent auction are also part of the program.
UF/IFAS additionally lists a bounce house, face painting and a rain-barrel workshop. The workshop has a separate registration link; visitors interested in participating should check its registration requirements and fees rather than assume it is included with free festival admission.
A festival supporting year-round education
Gardening 365 serves as an annual fundraiser for the Master Gardener Volunteer program. According to UF/IFAS, proceeds help cover materials and supplies that allow the program to continue offering free educational programs to Pasco County residents.
Organizers request that visitors bring only ADA-compliant service animals.
